Illness Update by Mommy

I took Grace to the Dr. Friday because she wasn't feeling good & was having a hard time breathing. Her right lung didn't sound quite right so she ended up having to have bloodwork & x-rays to see what was going on. Her white blood cell count was off for fighting bacteria. We ended up taking her back to the Dr. after hours for antibiotic shots & a breathing treatment. The Dr thought there was a 30-50% chance it was pneumonia. We took her back again Saturday morning & she had to get another antibiotic shot (she was VERY unhappy). The Dr. said he was 99% sure it was pneumonia in her right lung. He said she would have ended up in th ER Friday night if she hadn't gotten the shots. Thankfully we decided to go ahead & do the first shots!! Reid took her back for another follow up this morning and things are getting better. The Dr. can still hear the crackling in her lung...but the antibiotics are working already. She has 13 more days of oral antibiotics. All this is wreaking havoc on her tummy....but otherwise she is doing so much better. All this in time for my "special day" as she called it yesterday =)
